Allen L. Rothenberg, Esq., is a native of Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Business and Public Administration and Temple University School of Law (1969). He is admitted to practice to the Bars of Pennsylvania, New York, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Claims. In addition, Mr. Rothenberg is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is the National President of the National Commission on Law and Public Affairs (COLPA), an organization comprised of volunteer attorneys fighting against religious discrimination. Mr. Rothenberg has been involved in numerous high profile cases before state, federal, and appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Rothenberg has appeared as a guest lecturer at Temple University School of Law, discussing lawyer-television advertising and has lectured at the University of Pennsylvania, discussing tort reform. He has served on the Finance Committee of the Democratic National Committee and is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, New York and District of Columbia Trial Lawyer Associations.
Mr. Rothenberg is married to another prominent Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York attorney, Barbara Rothenberg, the managing attorney of the firm's Philadelphia office. Mrs. Rothenberg also maintains her own personal injury practice of law in New Jersey.
Seven of the eight Rothenberg children are attorneys. Harry Rothenberg, the managing attorney of the Law Firm of Allen L. Rothenberg’s New York City office, is a 1988 graduate of Columbia College and a 1993 graduate of Harvard Law School,
magna cum laude. Licensed to practice law in the States of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, he is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, The Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice, the North American Brain Injury Society, the Public Justice Foundation and the National Crime Victims Bar Association. Mr. Rothenberg’s practice involves the representation of catastrophic injury victims in a wide variety of contexts, including
traumatic brain injury,
wrongful death,
construction accidents, product liability,
nursing home neglect, and
inadequate security. He is an outspoken opponent of attempts to curtail the rights of injured victims to pursue redress in Court. Mr. Rothenberg successfully argued the landmark appellate case of
Kahane v. Marriott Hotel Corporation. Harry Rothenberg is also involved in a number of charitable endeavors, and is a certified lecturer to fellow attorneys for their Continuing Legal Education requirements. He runs the office with the assistance of Mr. Rothenberg's other children; Marc J. Rothenberg, Ross B. Rothenberg, Scott J. Rothenberg and Melissa Rothenberg-Kapustin as well as litigator Bradley S. Hames.
The New York office, under the direction of Marc J. Rothenberg, the head of the firm's Products Liability Litigation Department, has also developed particular expertise in
